There’s a shortage of perfect movies in this world. It would be a pity to damage this one. https://t.co/5N8Q3P2e5G

What He Said
“We are all stardust and stories.”
Erin Morgenstern, The Starless Sea
Y’know, Hollywood is gonna Hollywood, and continue to dig up the bones of previous generations, but I don’t want this at all.
Hollywood has been remaking and cannibalizing itself from the very beginning. Maybe a remake of this could become a good movie in itself? How far are they willing to go in regard to changing the source material? Who knows?
No please no please no
Why.
What a great tweet by the Dread Pirate Wesley. i wholeheartedly concur.
Since they just announced another remake of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA…. All we can do is pray that Johnny Depp, killer of remakes, isn’t in the cast. There’s not a lack of ideas and imagination in media, it’s a inability to take chances. Since ticket buyers and media watchers are willing to spend their time and money on reboots, and it already has build-in marketing, why bother to do anything original?
Eff that!!
My name is Inigo Montoya.
You remake my movie.
Prepare to die.
Please make it stop. Or baring that, let’s see a sequel with the original cast (sans Andre)..
#6.
Judging from the long-lived success of Star Wars, which was made because Lucas couldn’t remake Flash Gordon, I think a chance for something “original” can be worth it — several billion dollars worth it. But that’s the thing though. Star Wars wasn’t that original. It was a ripoff of many familiar things all cobbled together and delivered in a shiny, exciting package.
So, originality isn’t required. But a good ripoff can deliver in a big way.

LOL. Crossing my fingers here.

*standing ovation*
Oh, of course, and BSG started as a TV ripoff of Star Wars. You see, ripoffs, people! It’s an underrated concept.
Never seen it referred to as “Norman Lear’s ‘The Princess Bride’.”
This is an empty post. Was the content deleted?
@jcarnell: Visible to me, fyi.
Norman Lear was an executive producer but it was Rob Reiner who directed the movie and it should be credited to him. He made a perfect movie. A classic. Please, no remake, no sequel. Do something new. Great stories out there. Great books and stories that should get their shot at film.
love cary
@@@@@ nancymcc Still not visible to me, though I deduce from the comments that it was something to do with a remake of the Princess Bride.
But there’s no actual information in the post.
@18. It’s an embed of a twitter post. I’m guessing you may using an ad-blocker that’s disabling 3rd party content.
@6 “All we can do is pray that Johnny Depp, killer of remakes, isn’t in the cast.”
Or maybe we should cast him in every single remake. That should kill the remake concept permanently, and we can go back to original ideas or cleverly disguised ripoffs.
